Blue Download Dot and Other Issues

Something is going on with the blue download dots next to accounts that is annoying. If you have new transactions the blue dot appears near teh account. But if you click into the account it disappears even if you have not reviewed. Would be nice if that stayed until it was 100% cleared from transactions

Would also like to see the Windows Find/Replace function added to the MAC version. Much simpler way of correcting transactions. Any plans for that?

Thank you

    Hello @Frank DeMello,

    Thanks for reaching out!

What you’re seeing with the blue download dots is actually intentional behavior in Quicken Classic for Mac. The blue dot next to the account clears as soon as you click into the account, but the individual blue dots on the transactions themselves will remain until you manually mark those transactions as Reviewed. This ensures you can still track what needs attention even after opening the account.

If you’d like a setting that keeps the blue account-level dot visible until all downloaded transactions are reviewed, you’re welcome to create an Idea post for that. This allows other users with similar requests to vote, and our Development and Product teams regularly use Idea posts when evaluating improvements and new features.

Regarding your request for Find/Replace, we do have this Idea post for that feature. It’s already marked as Planned and is on the roadmap for a future release—though we don’t have an ETA yet.

    Thank you!

Hey Frank, While this is the intended behavior, there is a user option for it. Click menu Quicken > Settings. In the Sidebar tab of Settings, look at this option:

That is nice that Quicken Mac has that option, Quicken Windows doesn't.

Thanks @RickO Have made that setting change (thank you) but what is odd is what changed my setting? I didn't

Would also still like to see that Pencil if the account has any of those transactions. Unless the Blue Dot covers both (I don't think it does). Assuming that is a New Idea

    Thank you

If an account is set up for downloading then an unreviewed and unmatched manual transaction (with an orange pencil) will not cause a blue dot in the sidebar even if the "Highlight accounts with unreviewed transactions" setting is selected; the blue dot will only appear in the sidebar for unreviewed downloaded transactions (either blue dot or blue pencil). Personally I like this behavior for accounts set up for downloading & would not want to see it change. In those accounts a transaction with an orange pencil is one that hasn't cleared yet so there's no action for me to take at that point; a blue dot at that time would be misleading to me. I only want to be alerted when there are new downloaded transactions.

However, if the account is not connected so that all transactions in the account are manual then a transaction with an orange pencil will cause a blue dot to appear in the sidebar next to that account. I don't really care about this since I never use the "unreviewed" status in manual accounts anyway.

Hello Jon - my thought was you would show a Blue Dot And/Or an Orange pencil
