Bug Alert - Problem with Revert to Downloaded Payee name workflow/logic
@Quicken Kristina @Quicken Kathryn @Quicken Alyssa @Quicken Anja
I have discovered a bug in the current version of Quicken Canada. If you use the "Revert to Downloaded Payee name" feature to undo the application of a renaming rule, it does revert the name to the downloaded name in the downloaded (unaccepted) transaction pane, but it does NOT revert the same information in the register view where you can accept the transaction. So, once you accept the transaction, you get the payee that resulted from the renaming rule that you reverted - exactly what you told Quicken was wrong and you didn't want. This is very inconvenient.
But, it gets worse, once you accept the transaction, after reverting, it then automatically pops open the Create Custom Renaming Rule to Rename the Payee to the WRONG payee - to the very name you just rejected using Revert. This workflow is a serious mess. Instead of saving time it wastes time - twice!
Yes, I've reported this using "Report a Problem".

Hello @Arctic Hare ,
Thank you for letting us know about this issue and thank you for already sending a problem report with log files attached. To clarify, is this happening with downloaded transactions, transactions importing via QFX/Web Connect, or both?
I forwarded this issue to the proper channels for further investigation and resolution. If anyone else is encountering this issue and would like to contribute to the investigation, please navigate to Help>Report a Problem and send a problem report with log files attached.
Thank you!

I'm not sure I understand your question because Web Connect is a method of downloading transactions. Regardless, yes, I am using Web Connect. There is no Direct Connect for Canadian Financial Institutions and Express Web Connect (One Step Update) has significant issues with data integrity, security, and reliability. I wish Quicken provided a better option than Web Connect for Canadians, but in my view, it is the only viable download method available at present. I haven't tried duplicating this with Express Web Connect, but I expect the result would be the same because this workflow is after and separate from the download workflow. This is the workflow of getting downloaded transactions from the download pane accepted into the register.

Thank you for clarifying,
That is what I suspected, but I needed to confirm to make sure I'm passing the correct information along to our teams.
Thank you!
