Please bring back Quicken Home Inventory. It was a very powerful feature that I used regularly, and I miss it very much.

Are you talking about the stand alone version? (I think the stand alone version was and still is owned by Intuit)

There is one that is included in Quicken. Albeit a slim down version.
See this Article to install it if you didn't already.

It has not been update in years.

If you do a search there are a number of discussions like the following.

I also use third party Inventory software called Attic Manager. It is able to import Quickens inventory data file.

I have reinstalled Home Inventory and Emergency Records 3 or 4 times now. When I go to Property & Debt and click on Emergency Records, a page opens to enter records. When I click on Home Inventory, the page opens, and then freezes my computer. I have to use CTRL+ALT+DELETE and use Task Manager to end Quicken Home Inventory.

I would be happy if I could just open my inventory file and convert it to Excel. But as of now, my inventory history of the last 15 or so years, is pretty much gone.

    Any other ideas?

Which Windows OS are you using?
What version of Quicken are you using? (Help-About)
Have you read any of the above links to solve your problem?

You can look for the QHI.exe and open as Administrator or Make Compatible with Windows 8.

Look for QHI.IDB and double click it.

If all else fails there is software that can read the QHI data file it's called Attic Manager.

I use it as a backup.

    Hi,

Thank you for responding. I am using Quicken R59.18. My Windows OS is 10 Pro, version 22H2.

I right-clicked on QHI.exe and ran as administrator, and the Home Inventory window opens, but freezes; I cannot click on File or any other headers at the top. I found the QHI.idb file, dated 10/22/2024. I double-clicked on it and a message pops up asking if I want to close the current file (my Quicken file). I clicked yes and it closed my Quicken down. I clicked no and nothing happened; it took me back to my Quicken file.

I will try that Attic Manager and see how that works. Thank you for the suggestion.

You might want to temporarily turn off your antivirus and try again.

If it works with it off then you will have to White List or train your antivirus that it is good program.
