Feature Request: Category Setting for Rental Income

I've seen many posts on here over at least 5 years talking about missing/blank categories when entering rent payments received from tenants. Quicken: This is a problem.

The long and short is that on a new Quicken file, there is a default category named "Rents Received" which Quicken will use as the category when entering rent payments. However, if you, like most of us, decide the default categories are insufficient and you add/delete/change them where the *original* category (not a new recreation with the same name) "Rents Received" no longer exists, Quicken will now forever enter your rent payments as uncategorized (no category).

Quicken: There is NO way to fix this. Stop telling us to validate and super validate our files.

What we need: In the "Edit Rental Property Tenant" window (Rental Property > Properties & Tenants > Show Tenant List > [Tenant] > Edit > Rent Details), add a category selector so that we may assign a category specific to each tenant. This window is the most logical place because it is the same and the only location where you create the rent reminder for this tenant.

EDIT: This is reminiscent of the days when you couldn't change the mortgage category. That got fixed (eventually). Let's get this fixed!

    This is not an "idea;" it is a broken part of Quicken Home, Business, & Rental Property. The posting of rental receipts used to post to "Rents Received" and now it does not. One of my tenant's payments posts to "Girl Scouts" which is a category I deactivated years ago when my kids stopped being in Girl Scouts. Why will Quicken not fix this? Every other type of transaction gives a warning message when posting without a category but not this.

    I have been experiencing the same problem (uncategorized rent payments) for a very long time, requiring me to manually go back into the register and fix it EVERY MONTH. When you have more than one rental or rentals with multiple tenants, it just adds to the pain!
