Pennymac CC-569

For several weeks now, for my Pennymac mortgage account, I've been receiving a CC-569 error when updating (one step update) to download transactions/update information.

I followed the instructions to remedy CC-569 error (https://www.quicken.com/support/error-when-using-online-services-cc-569

Unfortunately, after deactivating the online services, I cannot continue with Step 8 of the instructions (On the Online Services tab, click the Set up Now button.) because the Online Services tab is no longer available.

Are other users experiencing similar issues? Is there a resolution for the update function failure with Pennymac mortgage accounts available?

    Hello @ErikL,

First, I suggest attempting to add the PennyMac account(s) back via the Add Account (+) route. Before doing so, would you mind sharing a screenshot of the tabs that are available within the register? If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments. Please remember to redact any personal information as needed.

    Thanks!

    Hi @Quicken Jasmine

Thanks for your comments. The Pennymac Account is not gone, it's just not synching anymore with Pennymac. I am therefore reluctant to Add Account, because I'll lose history and the linked asset. I would rather 'repair' the connection.

Pasting here the Account List/Account Details dialogue box, where the Online Services tab disappeared.

I am also pasting below the One Step Update Summary "Needs Attention" message, and steps following the "Fix it" path. This path too ends in a failure to connect which isn't helpful.

Thank you for looking into this further.

I have also been getting this error and do not have the option to add "Online Services" if I deactivate and try to re-add. Based on other posts, it appears to be a PennyMac URL change that needs to be updated in Quicken. Please advise. Thanks

@Quicken Jasmine — can you take a look at bstepping's comment, validating that there's a Quicken connecting to Pennymac issue, which seems to be caused by Pennymac's recent change of their URL. This also seems validated by other posts in the community page. A URL update seems that it should not take weeks to do on the QUicken end. Please advise.

    Have you tried this yet?

If your bank recently changed their website or password requirements please read and follow instructions here:

For online billers please see if you can manage (remove and re-add or repair) the online biller, to see if their profile has already been updated.

If that doesn't resolve the issue:

    • It is the bank's or biller's contractual obligation to notify their Quicken download service provider, Intuit Inc., of any changes to their websites and download functions in a timely manner before the change is implemented. Intuit needs a sufficient amount of lead time to review, change and test their programs, to adapt to the changes the bank makes.
    • The bank also needs to notify their customers of this change in a timely fashion and detail any actions that might be required by the customer to regain access after the change was introduced.
    • If they didn't do that, complain to your bank's or biller's office of the president.
    • You also need to contact Quicken Support via Chat or Phone at https://www.quicken.com/support#contact-support during posted hours of operation and report this as an Online Banking issue, so that Quicken Support can escalate this issue to Intuit Inc. Ultimately, however, the bank or biller must initiate the call and work together with Intuit on solving this update issue.

Please let us know if you were able to get this issue resolved (or not).

    Just my 2cents' worth …
I would not bother attempting to activate any loan or mortgage accounts for downloading. I would just simply set them up as "offline" (manual) loan accounts with a Scheduled Reminder to record the monthly payment from your checking account.
(Not discussing LOC or HELOC accounts here. They should be set up as offline credit card accounts)

At least in Quicken for Windows, an online-connected loan or mortgage account does NOT have a transaction register. All data shown in the account come from whatever information the bank downloads to you ... if this process works at all.

As a result of being connected, the scheduled payment transaction reminder cannot transfer the amount of principal paid into the (non existent) account register and must use a category, usually something like Loan:Principal, instead. The category name seems to vary with the Loan Type you selected when creating the loan account in Quicken.

Effective with Quicken Windows 2018 and newer
you should be able to deactivate an online-connected loan account and regain full control over your transaction register. And you should also review the Scheduled Reminder (or Memorized Payee List entry) associated with the monthly loan payments to ensure they now transfer Principal to the loan account register and not to a Category.

If you're a Q Mac user, you should be able to do something similar about setting up and maintaining an offline mortgage account together with a correctly calculated Scheduled Transaction Reminder for the monthly payments from your checking account.

    @Quicken Jasmine

I too am having the same problem where the "online services" tab for this particular account has vanished. I echo the sentiments of others in that deleting the account and adding it back loses history. Despite the comments of others, there is indeed a register there. Anyway, has anyone else solved this problem? Longtime quicken user here and I have never seen this before.
