Fidelity Investments and Fidelity NetBenefits - OL-293/294 Errors (QWIN) [Edited]

Receiving OL 294-A when trying to download from Fidelity and from Fidelity NetBenefits. started the evening of 2/18/2025 on accounts that worked earlier in the day.

    I have been getting OL-293-A and OL-294-A errors today. Generally, I do not post anything about errors the 1st day they occur because in most cases they will self-resolve by the next day. So, I will wait until tomorrow before I start any troubleshooting. I will report back here tomorrow after I get the OSU results.

    I just now (2/18/25) started having the OL293A error when attempting to use one step update for fidelity investment accounts. Everything was fine until today. I know this thread is somewhat dated, just wondering, if this is a new occurance and how to fix?

    I did not have this problem at the end of January, account updates worked fine. Now today, February 18, is the first time it showed up.

    The citibank and elan updates actually happened on 2/10.

    I will also add that although i received this error:

    There were not transactions to be updated today

    The day gain/loss and market value updated with todays (2/18) values.

    me too. it's been happening often enough lately that I wanted to check-in here to see what's up.

    As you said, they usually self-resolve but it got me thinking about how Quicken handles this error. It flags the error with a big red bar showing something "needs your attention". In most cases, it really doesn't need any attention other than to let it go and wait a day or two.

    Today it was Fidelity and Vanguard having the issue.

    Fidelity Error OL 293 occurring 2/19/2025. This is usually an issue on the Fidelity or Quicken side. Is there an ETA for a fix?

    I'm getting two different error codes when updating my Fidelity accounts:

    OL-293-A and OL-294-A

    This happened a couple of weeks ago as well and took a few days to get fixed?

    I am having the same issue. I tried resetting the accounts, validating the file and still have the issue.

    I'm having same issue and it continues today. Strangely, I can't even get to the error message. It may also be related to Fidelity Net Benefits account which it seems to combine in a single request even though I ask to update only one investment account that is not Net Benefits.
    Agree with an earlier post that I may need to be patient as it seems to be common to have these types of errors for several days.

    I had that problem initially but it's been resolved (reportedly from a fix by Fidelity). At that time it apparently had to do with annuity accounts, which is something I do have with them. I've not had any problems (knock wood) since that was fixed a week or two ago. Good luck!

    FYI, As a follow up…

    I opened up my most recent backed up data file which was dated 2/14/2025 and ran the One Step Update again and everything updated as it should and matched all the transactions and balances from my various accounts. Not exactly sure what the issue was??

    OSU worked perfectly for me now and transactions were downloaded.

    Last night I tried to reset my Fidelity connection and got a popup stating that Fidelity was not responding to Quicken…a common cause for this OL-293/OL-294 error code. This often happens when a financial institution institution has blocked the port(s) used by Quicken while they are performing some sort of maintenance.

    I just ran OSU for Fidelity Investments in a different data file with different investment accounts. It completed properly and downloaded transactions. No issues identified. Same good results as in the other data file earlier today.

    Everything worked yesterday but today it's Vanguard giving me an OL-295 error. This error's information on what to do next actually does what I below.

    There's always a different bank or brokerage that goes through something like this in a given week. It's ok that it happens once in a while but since it seems to happen often enough, Quicken's default response should be less intense. Maybe just a warning that says "it didn't work today. Try again tomorrow. Tell us if itgoes on for several days or more".

    This is a thread about Fidelity, not Vanguard. While the error codes might be the same, the issues are very unrelated. For Vanguard it appears to be related to issues encountered with a connection change that Vanguard was implementing for QMac that also perhaps ended up impacting QWin.
