Woodsboro Bank one step update stopped working

Using Quicken Classic Home & Business for Windows. A few weeks ago, One Step Update stopped working for Woodsboro Bank (www.woodsborobank.com). It now just takes me to their website has me manually sign in, then I have to create a transaction file in quicken format, which then does download to accounts. Then a popup appears (still on bank site) asking if I'd like to use OneStep Update instead. I click yes, it doesn't redirect back to Quicken, I have to sitch manually. Then a window saying connecting to bank, and after a few minutes another pop up saying bank timed out. Bank says it's not on their end. I've multiple times cleared my cache, tried different browser, turned off the VPN and nothing changes. Help? (This only happens for this bank, all other various accounts work fine)

    Hello @pearl1956,

Thank you for letting us know you're having trouble connecting to Woodsboro Bank. To clarify, is this happening when you're trying to reset the problem account(s), or have you deactivated the accounts and are now trying to reconnect them? I checked for any errors on our end, but I'm not seeing any. Are you seeing any error messages/codes when you attempt to connect your account(s)?

I can see that Woodsboro Bank does connect using Express Web Connect+, and that does redirect to the financial institution website, but it should be to authenticate with the financial institution, not to download a QFX file. Are you seeing this screen when you attempt to connect your account(s)?

If you are not seeing that screen, could you provide more information about what you are seeing?

If you are seeing that screen, then what is happening once redirected to the website?

If possible, including screenshots of what you are seeing (with personal information redacted) would be helpful. If needed, please refer to this Community FAQ for instructions on how to attach a screenshot. Alternatively, you can also drag and drop screenshots to your response if you are not given the option to add attachments.

I look forward to your reply!

Yes, I do get that screen, it goes to the correct bank site login page, I sign in (and go thru the verification code text routine) authorize quicken access and then get a pop up that says "your accounts have been authorized successfully"! The multiple times I've attempted this over the past month I usually have to switch back to Quicken, tho occasionally it has redirected itself back. It is in the Activate One Step Update window & it says "Sorry, the sign in failed due to time out or a connection error. Select Sign In to authenticate via your web browser". No error codes. Happens every time.

    Hello @pearl1956,

    Thanks for providing more information.

Just to narrow things down a bit further—when you complete the sign-in and see the “accounts have been authorized successfully” message, does Quicken ever bring up the account linking screen, or does it immediately time out? Also, are you using your system's default browser during this process, and have you noticed whether the timeout happens more often when you switch manually versus when it redirects automatically?

    Let me know!

Firefox is my default, I've tried using Chrome as a workaround but same result. I never get the usual account linking screen, immediately times out. Timeout is same whether manually or automatic.

    • Temporarily disabling all of your browser extension add-ons.
    • If your browser's Privacy setting is set to Strict: Temporarily change it to Standard.
    • If you have a VPN turned on: Temporarily disable it.
    • Firewall: Make sure Quicken and your bank's website are whitelisted. Or temporarily disable the Firewall.

If these do not resolve the issue for you, you might want to try temporarily disabling your anti-malware software.

After the download connection is successfully established you can return all settings to what they were before.

Nope. Done all that, no luck. Even if I try to add a new account by looking it up, I can connect, go through same steps and though it says approved, then get the timed out message.
