Limit on Deductions for Paycheck Templates Causing Issues

It would appear that Quicken has a limit on the number of line items you can list on a paycheck template (confirmed 30 items). I have a real-world situation that requires more than 30 items. I called support. The only alternative they suggested was to not use the paycheck template and list the paycheck as a split transaction (this raises my line-item limit to over 200). That could work, but the template was nice for separating pre-tax, taxes and post-tax deductions. Having a limit as low as 30 on the template is making the template basically nonfunctional for more complex paychecks.

Wondering if Quicken is willing to look into raising the limit on the paycheck template? Anyone else finding this to be limiting in their budget planning?

Thanks!

I'll ask the Mods to convert this to an IDEA, so that other users can vote on it in order to see what support it gets.

It seems to take about 50 votes before the developers take interest.

I haven't heard of any other effort in this area.

Can you explain the situation that requires more than 30 separate deductions? That might help us come up with workarounds for you.

One thought is that you might create a holding account for the deductions and transfer the total deductions from the Paycheck to that account. If some of the deductions are pre-tax and some post, you could use 2 accounts. Then in the holding account(s), you could enter the individual deductions, either as a big split transaction or as individual transactions. You could set up either a big split Reminder or multiple reminders to avoid manual entry each month.

I just ran into this issue myself. Some pay weeks, I have more salary source items, or more deductible items. This limit seems arbitrary.
