Amazon Purchase Categorizations
I have Chase Visa Amazon which has poor descriptions of the purchase. Every month, we have to go to Amazon to categorize each purchase. I did notice that Chase Visa includes the order number for each purchase. Would it be possible for quicken to create a better integration to read that order number to provide more description in the transaction?

I voted for this, but for me it is not much trouble to leave the Amazon "Your Orders" tab open in my browser and review recent deliveries to see what category(s) to use.
Downloaded software has a Payee of "AMZN Digital" which makes it easy to separate out, and video rentals are "Prime Video." The Prime renewal downloads as "Amazon Prime."

I'm 99% sure there is already such a requested Idea. The real problem here is twofold. One is that from what I understand there isn't any API to do this, so implementing it would be "hack job", which will always breaking as Amazon changes anything. The second is people's failure to understand the difference between what a person writing a script to do something and a business. Quicken Inc can't just write a script to access something on another business's website without permission. I doubt Amazon is going to give Quicken that permission, at least not without some kind of contract.

Hello @mjeanfreau,
Thank you for coming to the Community to share your Idea!
To clarify, when you say you're wanting a better integration to use the order number to get more useful information about the order, are you asking for Quicken to be able to access your actual Amazon account (not the credit card account, but Amazon.com) and pull in order information? If so, then there is an existing request for that functionality:
I look forward to your response!

This is a feature request. Every transaction on the Chase Amazon Prime credit card has the order ID for the purchase. It would be great if Quicken could download that attribute and expose it in the register. That would simplify the process of identifying and categorizing each transaction.
The problem with matching credit card transactions to Amazon purchases is that the total order amount often doesn't match the credit card transaction amount. This happens whenever points or gift cards are used, especially when it covers only part of the purchase. It also happens because Amazon will occasionally split a charge into two or more credit card transactions for no apparent reason.
My current process when I don't immediately recognize an Amazon transaction is this:
1) Open the Chase Amazon Prime website
2) Open my Amazon account in Edge
3) Open my wife's account in Firefox (so I don't get a whole bunch of broken cookies)
4) Find the transaction in the credit card by amount
5) Click on the details link (">" link)
6) Copy the order ID (the "see order details" link is useless)
7) Search for the order ID in my orders list. If not found, search my wife's account.
8) Categorize/split the transaction
Having the order ID downloaded in Quicken would save a couple of steps. It would awesome if the Amazon account ID could also be exposed, but it's not exposed in Chase's website. It must be in there, though.
BTW, this is not a request to help with automatically splitting and/or categorizing transactions. That's a lost cause IMHO.0 -
