I did the retheorization twice yesterday with no changes to my ML accounts in Quicken. However, I did the reauthorization today and it worked.

Thank you for your reply @DotCom,
If you're not sure what caused them to be off in the first place and you don't want to lose the history, you may want to add adjustment transactions to adjust the wrong balances to be back in line with reality. Before making adjustments, make sure to backup your Quicken file.
For cash balances, you will notice the cash balance near the lower right of your register is in blue. That's because it's a clickable link. If you click on it, a box that allows you to adjust the balance will come up.
Enter the correct cash balance, click Done, and Quicken will create an adjustment transaction that will set your current cash balance to the balance you specified.
For correcting incorrect share balances, there are a few different ways to adjust them, depending on the situation. For rounding errors or missing data, you may want to enter an Adjust Share Balance transaction. If you are unsure of what caused the share balances to be wrong, then you will want to enter an Add - Shares Added or Remove - Shares Removed transaction. Add and Remove shares transactions allow you to change how many shares you have without impacting the cash balance.
I hope this helps!

We are almost at 2 weeks and no update for Bank of America - the second largest bank in the US.
I just created an excel spreadsheet for managing my upcoming bills. It's funny - my friend asked me if there is another way to manage my money instead of Quicken and I said Excel but that's really difficult. I didn't think I would have to actually do it. But here we are.

What is the recommended course of action?
- Wait for a Quicken update?
- Go back to a prior Quicken file before the 9/11 software update and reenter all the data
I really don't know what to do and the lack of Quicken direction is not good.

I saw your note about the Bank of America migration delay. What is the recommended course of action for people who already migrated and it created "blank accounts".

What happened to the days when Quicken and Scott Cook used to be a case study for enthnographic research? Now it's difficult to get a response, direction, or anything.
I am an avid Quicken user - even was a Beta tester for Quicken in 1996 back in the days of floppy disks. But, this is nutso.

Scott Cook has been out of the picture for many, many years.
Quicken has had multiple owners. It is currently owned by the private investment firm Aquiline Capital Partners, which acquired the company in 2021 from H.I.G. Capital. H.I.G. Capital had purchased Quicken from its original owner, Intuit, in 2016. Aquiline is based on Madison Ave. in New York City. Quicken is merely one of 130 companies owned by Aquiline. You can see the entire portfolio at
What do you think that means as far as priorities for Quicken?
Quicken user since the day after Microsoft abandoned its superb Microsoft Money product.

@DotCom - yeppers, I have followed Quicken and its journey. I always worry that they will cease to exist if they aren't profitable. I also realize that hiring talent isn't so easy given it's a mature product.
But, I hope they fix these problems and make it stable again. I rely on Quicken to manage my money across accounts. I wish the moderators were more responsive as there are 5 moderators. I assume they don't know what to say otherwise they would respond as they have been helpful through the years.

Hello @davidmarketing,
I understand how frustrating this has been and I appreciate your persistence in trying to find a resolution. At this point, the best steps to take are:
- Create a copy of your Quicken file to test whether the issue persists there, or
- Restore from an earlier backup file.
If neither option works, then the next step will be to contact Quicken Support directly. Since this issue appears to be specific to your file setup, our Support team will be able to gather logs and work with you in more depth than we can here in the Community.
I know this isn’t the quick fix you were hoping for, but I want to make sure you’re pointed to the resource best equipped to help you move forward.
Thank you!

Regarding the 'No Eligible Accounts' issue, I spoke to Merrill yesterday. As of this afternoon (9/24/25) it is resolved.

Hi @Quicken Anja,
I restored from a 9/11 data file and it is working fine now. I just have a lot of repeat work to do (entering transactions and reconciling) but that's fine. What I didn't want to do was do all of this rework, and then have Quicken create the same problem again.
I also was frustrated because I wasn't getting any direction from the moderators what was the best path forward.

Glad to hear the restore worked, even if it means some extra rework. I know the delay in guidance was frustrating—we’ve been busier than usual, but we’re here to help as best as we can.
Thanks for your patience with us!

I can't reauthorize my BofA accounts. When I do hit "Deactivate" my machine locks up for about 30 min. I finally was able to update my accounts once but it downloaded a yrs worth of transactions! that was a pain. Deleted most of those and then tried to update again but BofA doesn't recognize the accounts (or something like that). I have used Quicken for 30 yrs and BofA almost as long.Never had this much trouble
