Need a "Next" Month/Quarter/Year time-frame pick-set to go with "This" & "Last" M/Q/Y (Q Mac).
I would like to be able to set it up so that no keystrokes are required. I would like to simply be able to open the report and have the date set correctly. The extra work you suggest is cumbersome and annoying.

So, I am curious…why not just provide the option? What is preventing it?

Nothing is preventing it. But the developers have more than 500 feature requests from users, and they need to sift through those ideas to decide which ones they think are most important to implement. They use various criteria to make those decisions: how many users will be impacted by an enhancement, does it add a capability for something which can't be done currently or just make it easier to do something, how much programmer time it would take to implement, whether it impacts other areas of the code, and so forth. We as users get no insight into their prioritizations and decision-making. One of the ways we can influence their prioritizations is the Idea threads on this site; the more votes an Idea gets, the faster it gets put in front of the developers for consideration. And some enhancement ideas which are accepted are sometimes implemented quickly and sometimes sit on a waiting list for a long time.

Was this ever added? How many votes are needed until it becomes actionable?
From a developer standpoint this is as simple as adding a "user-defined" select tag drop-down with options to add specific dates, limit the number to however many you want in your DB, could be done in seconds.

@DAK44 No, this functionality hasn't been added to Quicken Mac.
Ideas require a minimum of 30 votes to be forwarded to the developers; this Idea thread has a total of 66 votes (including carry-over votes from the forum platform Quicken used prior to this one). Once an Idea is sent to the developers, it is labeled as "Under Consideration", and it stays that way until the developers either mark it as "Planned" or "Not Planned". They generally only mark Ideas as planned when the have evaluated the request, agreed with it, researched how much time and effort it would take to implement, and found a spot for it on their future development schedule; until then, even if they think it's a worthy idea, it remains "Under Consideration". (I think it would help to have some status between "Under Consideration" and "Planned" to signify agreement/acceptance of the idea even though it hasn't yet been place on the development schedule — but that's not the way Quicken runs this show. 🤣)
The problem is that there are many more worthy ideas than the developers have time to implement. I did a quick survey recently and found there were about 35 Ideas marked "Planned" and close to 70 marked "Under Consideration". Some of those may have overlaps, but it gives you an idea of the scale. But they don't just work from this list of Ideas; there are other things on their plate to keep up with changing technology or security needs, or to maintain compatibility with other Quicken products, or priorities dictated from senior management — and all these things compete for time from the small team of Quicken Mac developers. Often, they prioritize features which add a capability completely absent from Quicken Mac (think: security mergers/divestments, or IRA account taxable withdrawals, or an investment watchlist or business invoices) over features which would make the program easier to use but have alternative ways of getting accomplished (such as this one).
So the short version is: no, this hasn't been implemented, but it's received enough votes to be "on the list". When (or if) it will get implemented is anyone's guess.
