Citibank Cards Authentication Problem (QWIN)

Okay, I got both of my Citi credit card acccounts to link properly.
- Go into Edit Account for one of the accounts. Go to Online Services tab. Click "Set up now…"
- Continue with the "sign in" step. Log in to credit card account in the web browser. Citi web page says authorization successful. Quicken mini-window says authorization failed. Click back in the Quicken mini-window.
- Now the mini-window offers to let you pick an institution. Use the search bar to enter Costco. Pick the option that says "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi
- Continue with the "sign in" step. Log in to credit card account in the web browser. Citi web page says authorization successful. Quicken agrees!
- Make sure that all accounts say "link to existing account" and verify that they're being linked to the correct accounts!
- Profit?
NOTICE TO QUICKEN SUPPORT: When I linked the accounts using this method, Quicken changed the starting balance of one of the accounts. This is a bug. Please fix it.

In addition to a Citi Costco card I have a Citi AAdvantage card. A customer support person walked me through the Citi Costco with I was able to reconnect. Through Add Account, do NOT select Citi Cards. The general selection does NOT work. Just as you have to type in Citi Costco in the search line, I had to type in Citi AAdvantage. Multiple cards came up and I selected my specific one. I went through the authorization and associated the found card with the existing account. I now have downloads of both cards. BUT, they had to be done separately through Add Account rather than editting the account or selecting the generalized Citi Cards. Hope this helps others.

This is NOT okay for a software company of your standing in the personal finance business. I've been using Quicken since 1995. What's the deal?

I was disconnected from Citi Cards downloads over the weekend, but have managed to get re-authorized. I can connect now with One Step Update and it results with 1 account updated, but 0 transactions.

I still cannot download transactions with my Citibank Visa. I thought someone said it was working. Not for me.

wish it did but what is this

Same here. I can Direct Connect to Citi Cards but no transactions are downloading for Costco Visa and Aadvantage MasterCard.

THIS is what finally worked- thanks to Wendy and Wil. THE KEY IS TO USE THE SPYGLASS SEARCH BOX AND BE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHICH CITICARD. FOR EXAMPLE, I HAVE HOME DEPOT WITH CITI, I HAVE AMERICAN AIRLINES AADVANTAGE WITH CITI AND ALSO COSTCO. I SEARCHED FOR AADVANTAGE ETC . DON'T JUST CLICK ON THE CITI LOGO!!!!!! IT WORKS, BUT JUST BE SPECIFIC ABOUT WHICH ACCOUNT.
Thank you @Wendy on p. 19 of these comments. My Costco Citi Visa cards are properly connected and updating, pulling just 4 days of prior transactions. Here's what I did, with a couple of added details:
In Quicken, go to your Citi Visa acct, and click the actions gear icon in upper rt hand corner, > Edit Account Details > delete what is in the Financial Institution field (mine used to say Citi Card) and delete what is in the account number field > click OK to save with those two fields blank
Then in Account Details, click the Online Services tab and set up downloads, making sure to choose "Costco Anywhere VISA Card by Citi" as the financial institution > follow the prompts, choosing LINK TO EXISTING Quicken account (not ADD AN ACCOUNT), and choose your existing Quicken account for your card
When I downloaded, Quicken pulled just 4 days of transactions, not months or years worth, which was a relief.
I was able to update a couple of times today when I tested, and it worked fine.
Hope this helps

Still not working…

Well, followed this from the start and couldn't wait any longer. Tried the
Costco Citi Visa card work around as mentioned by many here and, IT WORKED for me. Note, I do not have a
Costcocard nor Visa but was able to link my checking and other M/Cs and updates were successful. It now shows my FI as Costco etc. and will see if
correctingthat is possible later. Any thoughts on this?
THANKS to all for their input. Hopes this helps others as an FYI.

Have tried to connect with Citi to no avail. When will this issue be resolved?

Orthonormal's approach worked! Setting up my Citi Double Cash Visa as a Costco Anywhere Visa by Citi worked. It left my "Financial Institution" field saying "Costco Anywhere Visa by Citi", but the account number is correct and it did download my transactions.

To all community members contributing to this post, Thank you for highlighting the issue and sharing your experiences. My Citi account is finally working using Costco Anywhere as the financial institution; which actually failed earlier.
However, unlike @Quicken Kristina's post my account's Financial Institution is "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi " . I don't know if this really matters. I just wanted to share the observation.
I hope the issue has finally been resolved for everyone.

@ Bob on 30SEP. That worked for me, just pick another Citi card and it finally made the link up.

citibank credit card still is failing to reauthorize my account. Using quicken for windows, version R59.6. Post of 9/30 indicated it was fixed.

You have to use the Costco Citi Visa to get any of your Citi credit cards to connect. Should have been fixed by now.

I still cannot connect to my costco citi visa or other citi card. I have been with Quicken 20+ years. This is unacceptable. When will you fix?

Anyone knows if same method can be used on Quicken Simplifi or Android?
Plus, is it possible to join accounts on Android app? I don't have all duplicates once it's fixed and can't afford to loose all previous accounts history if I'll create new connection through Costco method.

This is tooo long for a fix- especially at month end Quicken- how about some updates and ETA ?

I'm also experiencing the same issue. I also have version R59.6 Build 27.1.59.6. The web page that Quicken Sends me to reauthorize indicates "Your Accounts have been Authorized Successfully!" Then when it goes back to Quicken, and I get "Sign in to Citibank bank failed. Try Again." I typically use Edge as my browser and I've also tried disabling the Pop-up Blocker and that did not help. I also tried using Firefox as my default Browser and that also did not help.

I am still having the same problem with Costco Citi credit cards.

I join you with the lack of any updates on this resolution. The last update was on 09-30-2024 by @Quicken Kathryn and @Quicken Jasmine on their post (See below). This is an important time of the month as most of us are reconciling. We can't easily reconcile if we can't download. See their last update on 09-30-2024 and then silence.

Is there a resolution to this issue with Citi downloads for both Citibank and Citicards?

Still cannot go from quicken to download Citi Credit cards.
[Removed - Off Topic]
When is it going to be fixed?

I have been using Quicken for 30+ years but this is my first time using the Quicken Community forum. The information provided by community members regarding this issue has been invaluable in this situation. I was able to re-establish downloading of Citi credit card transactions using the "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi" fix as recommended by many here. Thanks to all.
The lack of any meaningful information provided by Quicken themselves in this forum however is hard to understand. Given the reach of Citibank I can only imagine how many Quicken users must be impacted by this issue.
My question to Quicken at this point is will the "Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi" fix work indefinitely (to download transactions) or will we ultimately have to revert back to the "regular" Citibank connection?

This has been going on since about September 26…time for a solution.

Any suggestions for the Citi Strata Premier card?

I tried again today; still receiving the Care Code: FDP-390 error when Quicken tries to connect after CitiCard authorization.

All I know is when I review resumes for hiring developers and QA, I will never hire anyone who's experience includes quicken or intuit.
