Does anyone have an update on the connectivity issues between Quicken and Citi Bank credit cards? I just got off the phone with a Quicken customer service representative and he indicated the issue has NOT been resolved. Based on other discussions I've seen, this has been causing problems for over a month. That's not good. I was a software developer at Hewlett Packard for 30 years and this seems to be a case of poor software programming and management. Any ACCURATE updates would be most appreciated.

Same issue, only on a Mac. I can log into my BB credit card account on Citi. Cannot log in to the reauthorization.

Same issue with Meijer, Best Buy, and Home Depot. I tried to reauthorize and came back something is wrong, so tried to log into the account it's self. Citi wouldn't let me log in. Did a send me my log in and reset my password (used the same password) and finally got into the Meijer and Best Buy accounts. Tried to reauthorize and those two did. As for HD I had to call card support and it took a half hour to finally get into my account. Today tried to reauthorize HD and get a something is wrong try later. I can still log into the account it's self but HD will not reauthorize. I got the following messages, account authorized, sent back to quicken which gave me the second screen shot.

I am receiving the following errors after reauthorizing with Citi. I have submitted a problem report

Quicken Classic - R61.21, Windows 11 PRO current on updates

  • I'm having same issue on Mac. I can log into my Home Depot & BB credit card account on Citi. Can't log in to the reauthorization. "We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later." This is getting frustrating

    Same problem here.

Trying to Reauthorize my Home Depot / Citicards connection after receiving the email and the "Important changes to Citibank Retail Cards" dialog in Quicken Classic on Windows 11.

Initial attempt appeared to be working. Quicken opened my browser, and I was able to sign into the Citicards page. I clicked the checkbox for my credit card (which was oddly labeled "null x1234") and and then "Authorize".

I received an "Update Successful" message in browser, but upon returning to Quicken, it displayed the "Sign in Failed…" dialog shown below.

Now, each subsequent attempt brings me immediately back to the same "Sorry, the sign in failed…" dialog. Quicken does not even try to open the browser for another attempt.

Separately, I signed into my Home Depot Citicard account and verified that the first attempt did indeed result in a successful authorization. Citicards even sent me an email verifying the Quicken data sharing authorization.

For kicks, I tried to Add a new Citicard retail account to Quicken, and the exact same dialog appeared. Sorry, but this connection update seems rushed and untested. It doesn't look like it's going to actually work before the April 2nd cutoff date.

Running Quicken Classic Deluxe for Mac: Version 8.1.1 (Build 801.56891.100), macOS 15.3.2. Connection failed several days ago, attempted to reconnect multiple times over several days. Error message attached. Does not look like a temporary issue to me.

Having same error, have sent in two Report Problems with logs and snaps. Home Depot says successful but Quicken says failed, try again.

@bkdanner - This is a well known issue and an Alert has been posted about it: NEW 3/28/25 Citi Migration Issues. You might want to bookmark it so you get notified when it has been updated with new information.

Here is the Announcement regarding this EWC change to EWC+ and all of the credit cards that are affected by it…Home Depot is on that list: Upcoming update for Citibank retail branded credit cards.

There are several discussion threads in Community regarding this issue. I've asked for a Moderator to merge your post into this one: Reauthorize Citibank Fails/CC-505 Citi Accounts [QWIN]. While you might not be getting a CC-505 error code, when you read through this thread you will see it is about the very same connection issue that you are experiencing. Being included in an active users thread is perhaps the best way to be kept updated on developments.

This is infuriating. CANNOT UPDATE CITI BEST BUY ACCT EITHER when I get to the sign on at the quicken to citibank redirected link receiving the following error:

"We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later."

Logging into my citibank Best Buy account at the normal login site works, however.

Just an FYI, that Citi Credit cards are not the only cards effected by not being able to reauthorize in Quicken. The Shop Your Way Mastercard is having the same issue. The sign in website was NOT the Shop Your Way Credit Card site, but instead it was the Sears Home Warranty Site, no wonder I couldn't/can't reauthorize that account in Quicken.

    Thanks in advance

I was just able to add my Sears Card as a new account in a test file. The connection method is EWC+ and nearly 2 yrs of data downloaded.

The only odd thing I noticed is that for every month there are two $0.00 Interest charge transactions downloaded (one for Cash Advances and one for Purchases). Prior to this there never were any Interest charge transactions because I always pay off the monthly statements in full. But since the dollar amounts are always $0.00 it doesn't present any account balance issues for me.

But when I tried to authorize my Sears Card as a deactivated existing account in my primary data file the process failed after logging into my online Sears Card account and selecting the account for downloading.

So, some improvement perhaps but not yet ready for prime time.

    Same issue over and over:

"We encountered a problem processing your request. Please try again later."

Tried deleting cookies from citi and quicken. Did not resolve the issue.

Eventually something appears to reset and the logon proceeds. The account links, but transactions are missing.

@Grant - The "Citi Credit Cards" connection issue is really about a Citi Retail Services CCs connection issue. The SYW MC is a Citi Retail Services CC so it is affected by this issue. Citi Retail Services is changing all of their CCs from the EWC connection method to the EWC+ connection method. Community links that you might want to click on and read through:

The sign in website was NOT the Shop Your Way Credit Card site, but instead it was the Sears Home Warranty Site, no wonder I couldn't/can't reauthorize that account in Quicken.

I don't understand how you were taken to the Sears Home Warranty Site to authorize your SYW CC. The FIDIR list shows the following URL (in bold italics) you should have been directed to:

    09560 09560 09560 Shop Your Way Mastercard https://www.citi.com/ 1-877-816-9063 https://citiretailservices.citibankonline.com/RSnextgen/svc/launch/index.action?siteId=PLCN_SYW#signon ACTIVE CREDIT,ACCOUNTINFO&EXP-WEB-CONNECT NOT_QBP NA

When I did Add Account to try to add SYW CC account to a test file that is the URL I was taken to as shown in the following picture:

I had issues on Saturday. Quicken did redirect me to the correct website. I did login successfully, checked the boxes and clicked Continue. Was redirected back to Quicken where it said that it couldn't authorize because it took too long or some such nonsense. Tried several times, to no avail (same error message in Quicken). I was able to re-authorize today (just now), so I'm guessing either a bug with Intuit's server or Citi's website having issues.

    Today's status update:

    • The Sears Card that was successfully added and set up with EWC+ yesterday to a test file: OSU completed properly this morning.
    • The Sears Card in my primary data file: EWC+ reauthorization failed, again.
    • I added (via Add Account) the Sears Card as a new account in a different test file: It was successfully added with EWC+ and nearly 2 yrs of transactions were downloaded.

Citi Retail Services continues to have intermittent EWC+ authorization/connection issues.

    12:25 pm update:

    • The Sears Card was finally able to connect with EWC+ in my primary data file. Two new transactions were downloaded, the Online Balance is correct and there are no duplicates.
    • The Sears Card was finally able to connect with EWC+ in my 3rd test file. All looks good.

4 successful EWC+ connections in 4 different data file today. Hopefully this is an indication that this issue (for at least this Sears Card) is now fixed.

Home Depot Reauthentication finally worked today.

  • Member ✭✭

I may have spoke too soon on Best Buy connection. Yesterday and today a connection is made, but I get this after transactions update:

I wasn't expecting any new transactions to download, so I can't say if that worked correctly.

On the other hand, I was able to reconnect Home Depot, and it did downloaded two zero total transactions, but Quicken crashed after download. Transactions were still there after restart, and I reconciled without problem.

When redirected to Home Depot authorization page, it still shows the card name as "null" followed by last four of the card number, and the page source for the "Your accounts have been authorized successfully!" page still has the "internal error occurred…" and "Cached value is not of required type [com.quicken.fmcore.resources.PreDiscoveryCache]:…" code as before (image included in previous post).

The issue marked as resolved as of today. It does not work me. Do I need to anything special with the connection?
