What’s Going On Between Fidelity and Quicken?
Comments

I was involved in testing USB's migration to EWC+ in the spring of 2024 but not with this Fidelity migration. I did have a discussion with a Development Team manager in early August when the migration first started and all the issues were getting identified (he contacted me, I did not contact him).
Everything I've learned about the Fidelity EWC+ migration is what I have observed during my own testing of it and from what I have gleaned from various posts/discussions in this Community.
I think Fidelity is releasing the EWC+ migration on a limited basis now because they really do feel that the majority of the issues have been resolved. It is not uncommon for comments about "it's fixed" to filter down to the users a little later but I'm not sure why that is. At any rate, I have not yet been able to do any testing today to validate the current "fixed" status. Hopefully I'll have a little time tomorrow to do that.

I'll be interested to see what you find. But willing to bet, the ability to have a different cash account per investment account is something they are unaware is a need and never made the Requirements Doc. And if it did, then that should be part of Quicken's communication to us here. And either way should on the To Fix list here.
Personally, as a 28 year product manager I would never dribble this out at all in the condition it is in. And can you just imagine Quicken Fidelity user's that are unaware of these forums or chose not to come here?
Anyway. Will se how this all develops and what you find.

I set it up for the first time today, I'm using R62.16.

I would think this feature could only be added to Quicken via a version update. Prior to updating to R64.19 this feature was not present in my test files so I think it's reasonable to assume that this feature is one of the Fidelity EWC+ fixes that were implemented with R64.XX.

Does the Cash Balance in Quicken match the value of the Core Account shares that are in Holdings?

I didnt see any update that the transition was unpaused.. I did the ther 9/12 update that they are still working on it…
Well, this AM I got the popup that I needed to reauth for the transition; it showed both zzz dc connection and the ewc+ connection.. both options had 'reauthorize'. I dismissed the reminder. I tried to download again, but it forces same screen.
Based on all the above, my plan was to just try to reauthorize the zzz DC connection at this point. But I don't know how that will go.

One of the Quicken support people on this forum stated in a post that the forced cutover will be 9/25/2025.

It wasn't said in a formal Announcement. It was posted in another thread (Re: zzz-Fidelity Updates) on 9/12:

How did you "dismiss" the reauthorization popup? You must click on the "Remind me later" link at the bottom of that popup to close it and continue with using DC.
Or are you saying that you did click on "Remind me later" and you are continuing to get the reauthorization popup?
…my plan was to just try to reauthorize the zzz DC connection at this point. But I don't know how that will go.
If you do this, I strongly suggest you backup your data file before proceeding. That way if you don't like the EWC+ results you can simply restore that backup file and your DC connection should still be intact in it.

Still not downloading ANY Fidelity transactions via EWC+ after updating to R64.25. Quicken Kathryn's post above does not identify that this is a problem that they are working on!! This is getting really old.

Yes, that seems to be the case for all the Fidelity accounts if I check Holdings in Quicken. Core money market fund For example, Holdings in Quicken show
and Balances show:
Quicken "sees" the core money market as type CASH and even shows Available Cash matching in Balances, yet it does not use the core Money Market fund as cash and states it should be $0.00.
The Fidelity cash balance has not processed a $40 check yet, that's why Fidelity shows 2441.18 and quicken shows 2401.18 as the cash balances. So the core money market shares and Quicken cash balance actually match.

I guess I will have to update to R64 to get this feature.

I have tested both EWC+ and DC connections with Fidelity using Quicken Version: R64.25 Build: 27.1.64.25. Neither of these connections update any Fidelity Accounts.

Same issue with Fidelity.. 30+ year relationship with Quicken is coming to an end. With the money I pay for the subscription, I should not have to spend countless hours trying to fix an issue they created.

How do you know it is Quicken that created these issues? Both Fidelity and Quicken have admitted shared responsibility. Are you going to be ending your relationship with Fidelity, too?

I just updated to R64.25. I haven't dug into this version much, yet, but I did get the reauthorization popup and it looks different from what it did previously. However, it apparently does have the same functionality.:

When did you last download via DC? There would be no new transactions downloaded if you last downloaded earlier this week. Unless you trade in stocks or ETFs, the next download day will be Tuesday morning.
BTW, I just updated to R64.25 and OSU completed properly for DC and shows today's date for the last successful OSU run date.
I haven't tried doing OSU in my EWC+ test files, yet.Quicken Classic Premier (US) Subscription: R65.15 on Windows 11 Home

I downloaded information using "DC" on Thursday and then on Sunday morning, but the stock prices were not updated.
How often are stock prices updated in Quicken? Once a week or whenever One Step Update (OSU) is completed?
0 -
Prices for publicly traded securities with valid ticker symbols are updated every day the market is open. Usually closing prices for the past several days are downloaded with each update.
Publicly traded mutual fund prices are updated once per day, usually by about 7:30pm Eastern time.
Bonds and private funds like those held in many 401(k)s are updated when you do an OSU.

What's interesting is my Netbenefits connection says zzz-Fidelity Netbenefits but does not have the "-DC".
I ran OSU early this morning and just now to see if it prompts me to switch. Nope, not yet. I assume this is a staggered roll over.
My 401K account details. Note, I have 2 401k's at Fidelity (2 different employers), both read the same. They are separate accounts in Quicken, same Fidelity login.
I'm on 64.25

You might want to check your One Step Update settings per this picture:
If you still have an issue with prices not downloading (especially for private securities): Go to Edit Security Details, click on Other Info and make sure the box for Ignore prices from broker download is not checked.

I am on R64.25 using EWC+ and I still do not have any Fidelity Brokerage, IRA or ROTH transactions since 7/31/25!
I was advised to NOT try to switch back to DC, but if there is a proven method of doing so and if OSU now works with DC, I would be willing to try.
THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE!

QUICKEN LEADERSHIP-
Your team is doing terrible job communicating all the many issues discussed here. Most users aren't able to successfully download transactions from Fidelity regardless of version or connection method..
Please provide a senior leadership contact who can provide realistic updates.

As far as I understand, there is no way to go back to "Direct Connect" other than restoring a saved backup before the conversion.

My OSU this morning converted all my Fidelity CDs back to the original Price & Share values:
Price approximately $100 (new as of this morning)
Share values in sets of 100 (10 shares for a $1000 CD, this was corrected a few weeks back)
I had to go back and correct my original purchase and historic prices (which I had edited when things broke), but everything is back to "normal" for the Fidelity CDs.

Latest update from Quicken (9/15) states missing transactions from Fidelity are fixed.
NOT TRUE, I have 4 Fidelity accounts and am missing transactions since 7/31/25. The bulk of my missing transactions are from two ROTH accounts that have several stocks. These accounts normally have several transactions per month.
How about some specific instructions about how we are to proceed.
[Removed - Disruptive] never had these problems with DC.

After waiting weeks for a fix, I went back to my late July file. The first OSU after doing that seemed to stall, but I waited what seemed like hours and it finally finished with most transactions from August and September being downloaded. After re-reconciling my accounts, everything seems to be working as before with Direct Connect. I don't trust changing over to EWC+.

Hello @Movie Nut,
Thank you for letting us know you're still seeing an issue with missing transactions in multiple Fidelity accounts. To troubleshoot this, please make sure that your investment registers are sorted by date, just in case the transactions did download, but are concealed by the sort order. How old are the missing transactions? Are any of them still showing as pending on the financial institution side? Is there any chance they were previously deleted or downloaded into an incorrect account?
I look forward to your response!

- Sort Order is correct on all of my Fidelity Accounts
- Last transactions are from late July
- Not showing pending, and the Aug transactions are on my last printed account statements, but I do not want to enter 50+ Aug transactions and then wait for Sept statement and manually enter those numerous transactions
- I have not deleted any transactions and no way for them to be downloaded into different accounts
- I have not reinstated an older Backup file as I have lots of other register entries from other accounts that I would have to re-create!

Thank you for your reply @Movie Nut,
Since the troubleshooting above did not help to correct the issue, unless the problem accounts are 401(k) accounts, I recommend that you reach out to Quicken Support directly for further assistance, as they have access to tools that we can't access on the Community, and they are able to escalate the issue as needed. The Quicken Support phone number can be found through this link here. Phone support is available from 5:00 am PT to 5:00 pm PT, Monday through Friday.
If the problem accounts are 401(k) accounts, then there is still a mapping issue that our teams are working to resolve, which may be causing the problem. For more information, see this Community Alert:
Thank you!

I am still at R64.23 still using Express Web Connect.
Transactions downloaded on 9/13/25 reported Long Term Capital Gains as Deposits. This is a new problem I have not previously experienced or seen discussed in this Forum regarding the HORRIBLE rollout of the Fidelity - Quicken interface. 6 weeks later the problems continue. 😫
