Bank quit downloading QFX files

My bank has stopped downloading QFX files. They only download to CVS or OFX files.
Does Quicken have an app that will convert these files to QFX? If not, I will be forced to give up my Quicken and seek another financial app. Thanks

You might want to consider downloading and installing ImportQIF.  It is a freeware program that can convert CVS and OFX files into something that Quicken can import.  It was developed by a long-time Quicken user and active Community member.  You can read up on it and download the file from http://www.quicknperlwiz.com/.

    Which bank would that be?
Maybe it's time to send a letter or email to the bank's upper level management, requesting them to reconsider their decision.
If they don't, you can always think about changing banks. Any local bank or credit union which supports Quicken and offers good interest rates and no fee / low fee services will do.

Now you're thinking like me. I did send an email to the bank requesting that they reinstall the QFX option, but it will prolly take more than just me asking them to do it. If I can't find a work-around, a new bank will likely be in my future.

@joad47, how about NOT using a bank??? My primary "bank" is Fidelity Investments, the fund and brokerage company.
The only thing that I can't get from them is loans ... so a I keep a small account at US Bank which also holds my mortgage.

There are other CSV to QFX converters, search for CSV to QFX.

I'd be looking for a different bank that supports .qfx.  Preferably FREE Direct Connect.

Chris_QPW... It is my understanding that QFX is just OFX with a proprietary Intuit filed added to it. Legally, one must pay Intuit to be able to create it. Intuit's intention was to have the financial institutions pay them. I know that this situation falls on the app publisher, but is there any thing Intuit can do to the user?

@joad47 you understanding is correct.  And in fact I don't know "legally" where any of this would fall.  For instance I don't know that Intuit can really enforce this.  I don't know if the app create or the user or both could be sued.  But I seriously doubt Intuit is going either know or care.

EDIT, should be... But I seriously doubt Intuit is going either know or care if you are doing this.  I'm sure they are aware of the fact that there are  "converters" doing this.  And they have never taken any action against them.

That's how I feel. You would think that Quicken would have a little understanding for those that bought their product but are unable to use it do to circumstances like this one. In fact, I would have thought that Quicken would have offered, free or fee, to it's users an app that would convert CVS or OFX to QFX. That's what I was hoping to find here.....if not, I will have to go rouge because I really don't want to give up my Quicken nor my bank. Thanks for the reply, though!

If have a feeling it goes like this.  Quicken Inc is dependent on Intuit for their connection services.  Either in the contract or maybe just "we don't want to make them angry" they "ignore" that situation.

EDIT, just talking about this subject is "touchy", and at any time the moderators might jump in and censor it.

@joad47 - I just came across this converter site: https://csvconverter.biz/.  I don't know anything about it but it mentions Mac and Quicken so I thought you might want to look into it to see if it might be something you can use.

This is a Quicken Mac thread, that converter is for CSV to QIF.  Quicken Mac only allows importing of a QIF file for creating an account, not for transaction downloads.  It has to be a CSV to QFX converter for Quicken Mac.

You are correct.....EXCEPT......I'm an old Quicken 2007 user, and that requires QIF files. I've been using this "old" Quicken since it came out. I tried to upgrade and didn't like the new version.....so I now maintain a High Sierra HD just for Quicken 2007 and Big Sur HD for everything else.

If you have Big Sur on an Intel Mac, you can get a FREE quality VM from VMWare (Fusion) where you can run QM2007. For some guidance on this, check out:

Oh! that changes it.  You have to have a QIF in that case.  You can't use a QFX file because Quicken won't allow importing a QFX file into an unsupported version of Quicken.

EDIT correction, I have been told that Quicken 2007 still allows importing QFX files, it is the exception to the rule.

OK, I've had it with Quicken not being able to even read a QFX file properly. [Removed-Solicitation]

This is your only, so far, post in this forum.  SO, no one is going to be able to help you.
We'd need info about what your specific issues are, what Financial Institution(s), what Q product and what BUILD of that product, and what's your "Membership Valid thru" date.
BUT, I suspect your your post is best categorized as a "drive by shooting".
