    Quicken has a monopoly. It's a problem. Barclays - you can easily use another bank.

I've been using Barclays Online Savings for years and they consistently have the best rates, so no, you can't "easily" use another bank if you are trying to maximize your return on savings. Never had a problem syncing Barclays with Personal Capital, Fidelity, eMoney. Thought Quicken was an industry leader and would be even better, but boy was I wrong! I don't think Quicken is a monopoly anymore…I think they've just taken their early entry position for granted and become LAZY.

    Old problem:

    During online set-up multiple records are shown for one of the accounts. Only marking one of duplicate records "Do not Add" makes possible addition of the account to quicken.

    New and fresh for me:

    Transactions have not been downloaded. Online balance has not been updated (value from a week or more back).

    I have submitted logs.

    We are approaching the end of another month. What is the status of the Barclay update capability issues? I think Quicken support has fallen off the map on this one.

    Quicken support, please give an update!!!!!

    I have taken the time to review our internal ticket for this issue and I can see that my teams are still investigating this issue and working towards a resolution. There is no current ETA as to when the fix will be implemented but I can assure you that this issue is being taken care of and has not been forgotten.

    TAS467 posted a number of banks with APRs that are currently as good as, or better than, Barclays. However, the top of that list, Openbank, doesn't connect with Quicken, so that's similar to "Barclays stopped working with Quicken". Another option, not on that list, is Neighbor's Bank. Today, their HYSA offers 4.75% APR, and it works fine with Quicken. The one downside I've found (after I signed up - they don't make it obvious up-front) is that their maximum transfer out is $10K daily.

    I have many Barclay's accounts. Now I can setup them in QW, I can re-set them, I can re-setup them. However, NO (zero) transactions were downloaded from accounts for more than a month time period.

    Concerning "Online Balance:" in QW. Arbitrary value is shown. In many cases I cannot find this value (shown as Online Balance in QW) in a history of account on Barclay's website.

    Please, DO SOMETHING!

    So incredibly tired of dealing with Quicken's inability to consistently work as intended.

    CapitalOne wasn't working. Then BofA became non-functional. BofA started working, but Chase was down for the count. Now Barclays is D.O.A.

    The constant churn of setting up/de-activating/re-activating, etc. rarely seems to make a difference. Feels like it's just something to do while awaiting fixes from Quicken team.

    I tried "Add Account" again. Barclays' connection is finally working (Windows). This was the first time since the beginning of October, 5 MONTHS LATER!! 👎️👎️👎️

    Unfortunately, Quicken did not match all of the manually added transactions. Also, some interest was time stamped wrong. All of the December Interest was dated for October. My savings accounts had large negative balances and all of the CDs did not have the correct balance.

    All account had to be manually re-reconciled, duplicate interest deleted, and interest earned dates corrected. Then I tried Update again and everything now seems to be in order. Fingers crossed it continues to work. 🤞

    Unfortunately, it's too little too late. I've already moved both my Savings and Tiered Savings to other financial institutions that have consistently working Quicken connections and competitive or better rates (CIT Bank, Bask Bank). As Barclays CDs mature this year, the funds will also be moved to other financial institutions.

    I'm not going through this again! Barclays and Quicken have made it clear the Connected Accounts feature is not a priority. It should not take 5 months to resolve.

    I've used Quicken since 1994. Yes, that's 30 years!!! If there was a competitive alternative, I would have switched already. Very disappointed in Quicken's lack of support. Quicken has a monopoly in this market.

    I have 3 Barclay cc accts which includes my main American Airlines. 2 have not downloaded at all this year and the other last DL was 1/31/2025. Likewise MidFirst Bank my main bank account fails

    I get CC-505 errors on Barclays 3 accts which I think I have gotten for months when trying.

    They all work going direct to website. But last time I manually downloaded from site I got lots of duplicates and took hours to find all and get it reconciled.

    I will try resetting up etc.

    Update: I got Midfirst to update but finished showing a $60k balance vs actual of about $1600! Tons of duplicate entries. And none since 2/19/2025. I restored backup and it updated from the back up but same result of erroneous $60k balance - I wish!

    Update: When reset Midfirst found 2 old closed commercial accts besides the one personal I have on quicken. So I said do not add on the two commercial but add the personal. After I again got $60k balance, it asked if I deleted some accts (yes the two commercial closed that were never on Quicken. Then got screen to add the two commercial which I changed to not add… but the listing for the personal acct I want says Don't Add and I can not change it to add.. no box like to add the two I don't want.

    I guess this should be on a separate thread since started out with the Barclay issue which I have on 3 CC accts not savings (don't have at Barclays.

    Still not fully working - had to relink accounts all over again. It took numerous attempts. One account still isn't linked even though it says it is. That account cannot be reconciled. Deactivated and reactivated with no success.

    This issue continues to waste my time. All my savings have been transferred to other banks who have competitive or better rates and stable Quicken Connections. As my remaining Barclay's CDs mature, those will be moved out of Barclays account.

    Well, finally!!!! My Barclay accounts updated correctly today. I had to disconnect one and reconnect, which was a tedious step , to make sure I reconnected the correct account. However, once completed all transaction dowloaded correctly.

    re: Barclay download. Cannot get QW to accept a qfx file downloaded from the Barclay site.

    "Quicken is currently unable to verify the financial institution for this download. Please try again later".

    Getting this for several days now.
