    What types of accounts are these? My Fidelity HSA and 529 accounts were also changed to "zzz-Fidelity - DC" in today's OSU. See this discussion about upcoming changes to Fidelity NetBenefits accounts.

    I have accounts that update via Fidelity and also a Fidelity NetBenefits account. All of them now have the “zzz” prefix.

    Hello All,

    Thanks for bringing this up!

    As noted by @Jim_Harman (thank you for linking the related thread!), the “zzz-” prefix typically indicates an inactive connection in preparation for a change. In this case, the connection method for Fidelity NetBenefits is beginning to transition, and this is part of that process.

    No action is needed just yet—when it’s time to update the connection in your Quicken file, you’ll receive a prompt directly within the program.

    We’ll be sure to share more information here in the Community as soon as it becomes available.

    Hope this helps!

    @Jim_Harman Our NetBenefits (401k) changed to zzz yesterday and my "regular" Fidelity accounts that take up a different line on OSU changed to zzz-Fidelity this morning. Hopefully we're not missing any transactions while this transition is pending.

    @Quicken Anja Please note that as of this morning, the "zzz-Fidelity - DC" FI name is being applied to other and maybe all Fidelity accounts, not just NetBenefits accounts.

    @Quicken Anja

    OSU is showing zzz for regular DC Fidelity acccounts. Are they getting ready to change as well? Are transactions still downloading for these zzz accounts? I got 0 transactions downloaded this morning, but that may be correct.

    @Jim_Harman & @leishirsute Thanks for pointing that out! We’re seeing the “zzz-” prefix expand beyond NetBenefits as part of the ongoing transition. No action needed for now—we’ll share updates as we learn more.

    Thank you!

    Hello again, everyone—

    As we continue to look further into this, we’d like to ask for your help in confirming whether or not you are still receiving downloaded transactions successfully despite the “zzz-” prefix showing in One Step Update.

    Please let us know either way—your feedback is greatly appreciated and helps our teams better assess the impact.

    Thank you!

    All my Fidelity accounts have the "zzz" but they are updating normally.

    @Quicken Anja OSU is completing and reporting no new transactions, as expected. There should be new transactions in a few days, at the end of the month. Share prices for private securities are updating normally.

    OSU abbreviations can be confusing

    I had no idea what you were saying until seeing an earlier post

    OSU abbreviations can be confusing

    I had no idea what you were saying until seeing an earlier post

    Sorry, I usually spell out abbreviations the first time I use them in a post.

    FI = Financial Institution (Fidelity in this case)

    OSU = One Step Update

    DC = Direct Connect, a connection method for downloading data directly from your FI

    WC = Web Connect, a connection method that involves manually downloading a file from your FI

    EWC = Express Web Connect, another connection method

    EWC+ = Express Web Connect Plus, an "improved" connection method

    HSA = Health Savings Account

    529 = a tax-advantaged college saving plan

    OP = Original Poster, the person who started the discussion (Gary R in this case)

    Are there other abbreviations that are confusing? Perhaps we should make a more complete list.

    I'm seeing this to.

    Edit: It appears that transactions are downloading correctly. I verified against my account online.

    Any ideas why, in One Step Update summary, my Fidelity account suddenly shows as "zzz-Fidelity Investments - DC?" I have never named it that.

    (That's what shows as the "Institution name" in the account's details.)

    It appears that @Quicken Kristina confirmed that Fidelity EWC+ will suppport complete tracking.

    Yes, that is what she posted. But people are now being forced to EWC+ when they reactivate a deactivated DC account and when they are setting up new Fidelity accounts. Complete Tracking is not an option and is not available when this happens (at least not with QWin but I am hearing it is available with QMac).

    So, there is a disconnect on this. Either we (and Quicken?) were given incorrect information about this or Fidelity has backtracked on this. Either way, it needs to be resolved. Until they do, Fidelity should reopen the DC connection option for download setups so they will have Complete Tracking.

    If Fidelity users are forced to use "simple investing" and wish to continue to use EWC+, then it would seem that tax planning would be completely useless, right? Custom investment reports and investment register views, built over the years, gone? Makes Quicken look less attractive.

    What other functionality is diminished as a result of going with EWC+ and "simple investing"?

    Here is the warning message that is displayed when you switch from Complete to Simple mode.

    It says that the Investment Performance Report is calculated normally, but since the actual dates and amounts of the Buys, Sells, and distributions are not recorded, it will be less accurate than if the real transactions were there.

    The Tax reports and Tax Planner would be incorrect.

    wow. Tax planner and tax reports are some of the main uses of quicken for me to calculate estimated taxes. It seems quicken would diminish in value to me. Hopefully, fidelity would change their direction and offer complete tracking like Schwab eventually changed their direction after much feedback.

    So I did the updated connection and, after a few cycles of restore my backup and try again, I managed to successfully complete it. Despite other issues I encountered along the way, I note that both of my 401ks (the only accounts that changed) are still using the Complete tracking method. Not sure if something I did in my redo's resulted in this or I got lucky.

    BTW, mine when from Netbenefits to Fidelity Investments.
