Improvement to the New Idea post Voting

When there is a new Idea Post, often we tend to write a comment stating that this is a good idea, thinking that it is sufficient to up-vote it. Neglecting to click on the vote button. Moderators and SuperUsers spend countless time to explain the process, educate and encourage users to click the vote button. It just does not stand out.

I'd like to propose an improvement to the UI and verbiage, if feasible, customized for the "Idea Posts" section of the community to make it stand out and clear how to vote. Here is just a rudimentary mockup suggestion to stir things up.

This is a good idea. Unfortunately, this site is not one Quicken folks have a huge amount of design control over; it's a commercial online community software platform from a company called Higher Logic Vanilla (formerly Vanilla Forums). The Quicken moderation team can control some user interface elements of the site, but mostly they're just a customer of the product. Adding new buttons and alert banners is something they don't control; they can suggest it as a feature enhancement to Higher Logic Vanilla, but it would be up the the developer to build in such features.

I agree this is a good idea. Note that the Moderators can add notes to the colored box, so they could add something like

To vote for this idea, click on the small triangle below the vote count. If the count decreases, you have already voted. Click again to restore your vote.
