Could not access my Barclaysave account today. Just imagine if someone were desperate for a bank money transfer….no email warning us of the "new migration" of data to another website. Anyway a very pleasant young lady helped us to access the account. Only took an hour. Everything was messed up including an old Llbean card whose login kept coming up on the screen…(Llbean's card was changed from Visa to MC years ago.). I am seriously thinking of changing to another online savings account. Remember the mess we had a while ago downloading info from Barclas to Quicken??. That took months to resolve. Haven't tried linking the 2 up yet since my patience is running low….

Still getting the cc-511 error when trying to connect to the new Barcly website. Has there been any progress in getting the issue resolved?

    Thanks.

Have followed this thread. I have the smae issues - Barclays no longer downloading and AMEX only updates "manually" by improting a quicken file created on the AMEX website. Not acceptable.

For American Express, the new process (I had to reauthenticate yesterday) is working for me. Barclays still not working.

Negative on the AmEx issue. Yesterday I was prompted to reauthorize my AmEx accounts, both for credit cards and a savings account. The process reconnected / reauthorized all my accounts to the American Express site, dropping American Express - Banking while doing so.
Please follow the AmEx discussion threads and, if needed, add your comments there, to keep this discussion on the Barclays topic.

Can't comment on the Barclays issue because I don't have any accounts with them.

Since there are zero updates, I'm assuming the Quicken folks working on Ticket# 11342593/CTP-11259, haven't been able to reach anyone at Barclay's who can answer any questions. I'm migrating to E*Trade Premium Savings (4.25% APY no min bal) since they already know me and E*Trade plays nice with Quicken. 🤞

I'm also leaving Barclays. This is just one of several issues (Barclay's link to Plaid is also down) and I'm done with them.

    Same thing happening to me.
    I only have a Barclay's saving account.
    The site was: https://www.securebanking.barclaysus.com
Now, it directs you to this site to log in: https://cards.barclaycardus.com
Then, takes you back to the original site.
Either way, it causes the errors in Quicken and will not download or even connect anymore.

    Goodbye Barclays!!

The issue is that authentication/login for Barclays US Bank is now federated with the their credit card site. So all the login URLs have changed, and the authn flows and redirects have all changed. So Quicken will need to update things on their end. Nothing we can do as customers. Also… this might take a while as this all seems to be part of a larger redesign and merging of users on Barclays side. So Quicken might hold off on fixing this until they are sure Barclays is done with their changes.

Looks like you have to call Barclays to cancel an online savings account. I don't see a link anywhere to do that.

    What the ………?

It has been two weeks!! Is anyone (Barclays or Quicken/Intuit) working on resolving this??

Looking like there might be a LOT of money moving from Barclays to a more stable investment/savings choice!!

I'm going to try my luck with Discover. It took me about two days or so to wade through the website/login nonsense with Barclays (fortunately, my account didn't get locked, and I didn't have to deal with customer service), but I've had it with the ongoing issues—not just the Quicken thing, but when I do view my Barclays account online, there isn't a logout option (there's a Home button—which I assume would lead back to the main screen with a logout option—but when I click Home, I get an error message).

There are other banks currently with higher rates, but Discover seems to have a good reputation and good US-based customer service (I've heard horror stories of people trying to get help from someone at Barclays during all of this). There are also some bonuses available to new Discover customers who deposit higher amounts within 45 days of opening an account. We'll see how it goes, but Barclays managed to drive me away (after 9 years) due to this debacle.

You make a strong case to abandon Barclays. Also started with them about 10 years ago

    Thoughts:

My savings are available; I can transfer in and out. Adjusting QW to update with the recent interest distribution just took an extra minute. Staying put for a while.

    Great Support!! NOT!!

It has been over 2 weeks now since this debacle started. HELLO QUICKEN SUPPORT!! Is there ever going to be any active support on this issue??? Perhaps quicken support and Barclays Support need to be talking to each other to discover who needs to update/change what for the interface between Quicken and Barclays to work for Barclays Savings Accounts?

Anyone else out there fed up with this nonsense and moving ALL of your money from Barclay Savings to another financial institution??

Should a demand be made to Quicken for partial refund because of "Pain and Suffering" due to the lack of support?? Probably a bit over board and over optimistic but there are other options out there for HYSA (High Yield Savings Accounts).

Would it be better to leave Barclays or to leave Quicken for other alternatives?

I wouldn't be wasting my time on this but alternative is wasting time trying to get Quicken to work with Barclays!!

    Rant done (again) !!

This is a user forum…no Quicken Support software technicians here. You need to open a ticket with Quicken Support.

There is a ticket open but after 2 weeks it seems like there should be some progress! (Ticket# 11342593/CTP-11259)

Contact Barclays and they will tell you that the issue is with Quicken!!

So far, just a lot of finger pointing!! 👉️👈️

I spoke with both Quicken and Barclays this morning. Both are aware of the issue, but have not provided a solution or work around. They are in the process of working on it, but still will not provide an ETA for a solution.

I might abandon Barclays, but a desire to consolidate HYSA accounts would be my main reason, not Quicken issues. I certainly want to see it fixed, but as you note, the outage has no effect on my access to funds and online information from Barclays. I literally have only two Barclays entries a month - interest income and an equal withdrawal to an outside account, in the same amount. Not having Quicken downloads for a checking, credit card, or brokerage account would be a bigger, more time-sensitive problem.

There are plenty of other banks paying more than Barclays, and most allow Quicken downloads.

Things are changing quickly, but Barclays at the moment is actually paying slightly more (.1%) than my Discover, Amex and Capital One HYSAs. And system changes at Discover and Amex led to recent Quicken download issues for many. Hopefully those, at least, are in the rear-view mirror.

Unfortunately high rates for savings will probably be in that same mirror, before long. :(

Best High-Yield Savings Account Rates for November 2024

I appreciate the list but how many of those (if any) cooperate with Quicken?

I have setup accounts with about 12 HYSA banks, and 10 out of the 12 allow Quicken downloads. The best way to test the compatibility with Quicken is to start adding an account to Quicken and see if it comes up on Quicken's list of banks. You don't need to complete the setup, but you will at very least know if Quicken downloads are available. As you know, rates change with all of these banks, and some have better websites and features than others.

As a temporary workaround, has anyone been able to download from the website? I tried the "Quicken" option - which I had not noticed before - but I errored out.

Even the Quicken Web Connect option on the Barclay's site is not currently working. I had contacted both Quicken and Barclay's and they said that they were working on it.

I pulled the plug on Barclays today and cancelled my online savings account. I had to call them to do it, and they are transferring the balance plus interest to one of my external accounts that was already on file with them. Besides the hassle of having to call it went smoothly and they didn't ask why or beg me to stay.

"Working on it" should mean a couple of days, not the more than three weeks it's been non-functional. Started transferring my account balance out today.

I tried again to import the .qfx file from the Barclays website. Still not a workaround, unfortunately.
