I need an option to close or remove the pie chart on the spending tab [Edited]

I would have no problem voting for an option to hide the graph on the Spending tab if that is actually what this request is, since @RTPNC hasn't come back and clarified that we don't know that for sure. But I definitely disagree about its usefulness, in fact, it almost the only thing my wife looks at. Which is what she does to get more details/filter the Home "See Where Your Money Goes" widget.

I think I have used the list under it about 2 times in the whole time I have used Quicken.

It's the SAME pie chart EVERYONE is talking about. The Spending Tab. It is a useless hog of screen space and no, you cannot remove the Spending tab.

It's the first thing you see when you click on any account in the left accounts nav column and then select Spending or Income for that account. Quicken allows you to collapse or expand the left accounts list column. Expand that if not already, and click on ANY account. Most or many of us want to see the transactions. That's our primary goal yet 2/3 of the screen is taken up by Account Name title area, Transaction type and date range area, and the dreaded income/spending pie chart wheel, which takes up nearly 50% of the vertical screen space. They way I use quicken I am never interested in this pie chart. I'm wanting the transaction list. If you like it - fine. Just give me the option to hide it, minimize it, get rid of it. I have no problem with you leaving yours on. The fact that some people have a problem with those of us who want to turn it off doing so is just stupid. I don't care if you don't understand the reason I want it off. The fact that I do is reason enough for the programmers to enable the option. The fact that so many of us want to turn it off - even more reason.

I was needing to quickly get to all income for a 2 year period for one specific account. Very quick to click the account, click income, then set the date range. I ended up doing a File>Export to csv so I could look at the transactions in spreadsheet. It was much easier to view the transactions this way. That's pretty sad program design if I have to offload data somewhere else to view it more easily.

I didn't notice this at first, but the original poster is a Quicken Mac user, but the idea is posted in the Quicken Windows category. What's more there are both Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows users replying to this idea thread.

Quicken Mac and Quicken Windows aren't even close when talking about this subject.

At this point I now suggest that this thread be closed and that the people that want these ideas to properly submit them to the correct forum category(s). Go to the Home page and select New Post → New Idea.

I will also point out that for Quicken Windows "not showing the Spending Tab" is most likely not what anyone here wants, and has more ramifications that people might not understand. The Spending Tab is the "go to place" for "drilling down" from different places in Quicken Windows.

For instance, the main way my wife and I use it is by having the "See Where Your Money Goes" on the Home tab, and then when we want to see more details select the "Examine Your Spending" button or clicking on a category in the pie gram in "See Where Your Money Goes". This takes you to the Spending tab, pre-filtered to what was selected on the "See Where Your Money Goes".
