    I received the QM2017 4.6.0/4.6.1 update this afternoon (2017-09-14).

    There is a minor issue when launching QM2017 4.61 if one has an existing Quicken ID that is different from the Intuit ID used in your QM2017 4.5.8 database.  It complains when you enter your Quicken ID that the ID is already in use.  At least it does provide a second log in window that has a link at the bottom that allows you to use your existing Quicken ID.

    My biggest issue with QM2017 4.6.1 is the asynchronous background updates.  There is no positive indication that Quicken has completed any task that the user has initiated.

    Without any positive indication that Quicken has completed an operation, I find that I now have to log into my credit union's and brokerage's web sites to determine whether Quicken has downloaded all of the transactions that occurred. 

    What once took one or two minutes now takes five to ten minutes.

    Quicken could have spent some time fixing all of the bugs that remain in the investment logic.  When will the Day's Gain/Loss be reported correctly?  The amount reported is always wrong when the investment account(s) hold shares of Unit Investment Trusts, shares of an investment -grade CD, US Treasury and GSE bonds.

    What about Quicken's assumption that all dividends and interest are taxable income?  The TXF files generated by Quicken are simply wrong due to these assumptions.

    I Agree. The changes to the Account Status window are not nearly as clear or "more accurate" as Marcus states.

    The meaning of the info in the Last Update column now depends on type of connection that was used (e.g. Direct vs Quicken Connect). On a Direct Connect account the time stamp is still when Quicken last connected to the Fi whether or not there was any new activity downloaded. But on a Quicken Connect account the time stamp is the last time Quicken actually downloaded new activity. It would not surprise me if at least some of the early reports of connection failures after upgrading to V4.6.x were based on this difference in the meaning of the info in the Last Update column.

    FWIW I find the current info in the Last Update column nearly useless, since it requires me to know the type of connection for every account, which is not included in the Account Status window. And even if the connection types were included, not knowing when the last time Quicken connected with a FI leaves room for doubt about when I last asked Quicken to check for new activity on that account.

    If we are voting....
    I’d prefer that the Account Status window told us BOTH when Quicken last successfully connected to a FI (ala Direct Connect) and when Quicken last downloaded some new activity (ala Quicken Connect) .

How about putting out an email blast letting everyone know there is a problem and they're not crazy. Would save countless hours of users fiddling with the files and potentially causing more issues. That would be more useful instead of the endless sales blasts from you guys asking me to upgrade to other Quicken products.

    That's what it was. If the Quicken Connect account doesn't have any activity to download, it stays on the last date it updated something. Also, the account status windows pops up as if it's done but don't be fooled... it's still updating the cloud connect accounts as can be seen by the spinning Update Accounts button. Happy days (until the next "upgrade").

    I'd just add my own 2 cents to this thread.

    None of my credit card accounts will now update properly with 4.6.3. I've disconnected and reinstalled them multiple times, although I have not tried to create totally new accounts and datafiles yet. Institutional cards not updating include:

    Chase
    Bank of America
    American Express

    This is really disappointing as the most important convenience feature of Quicken is to automatically download these transactions.

    Please fix or tell me how I can fix.

    It's more serious than that. The order that the accounts are updated and what accounts are set up for downloading changes the outcome. I think there are some bugs in the transaction downloader that don't handle all of potential output from the client institutions. I would not want to trust Direct Connect which to my understanding can issue payments before this is resolved.

    Yes, it seems there is a need to have both dates...date last synced/connected and date last downloaded, or some such labels.

    What method are you using to connect -- Quicken connect or Direct Connect? Chase likes Direct Connect. I have connected to both Chase and AMEX since updating to 4.6.3. Both are Direct Connect. At sometime a day or so ago before I updated to 4.6.3 from 4.5.8, my Chase account switched from Direct to Quicken connect for some unknown reason. I corrected it while I was still in 4.5.8. But, I also got a message from Chase to go to my account and verify my identity through their secure message system. Apparently this was caused by the change in connection method. Once I did that all was well with my ability to connect. When I updated to 4.6.3, my Direct Connect method stayed as it was in 4.5.8.

    I'm unable to print my checks. I get an error message that says checks cannot be printed because they have non-negative amounts, but don't show the checks I want to print. Even the write checks is convoluted and doesn't show the check writing window where I can enter the address. Check writing has beenthe most important feature for me. The support line is busy forever and the chat line is busy forever.

    Lucy, it sounds like you have a lot of experience printing checks, so please bear with me with my questions so we can better understand what is happening.
    1. I assume you are on Quicken Mac version 6.4.3?
    2. I assume you have checks in your register labeled "PRINT" in the 'Check #' column?
    3. Is the word PRINT black (and not gray)?
    4. Are there negative numbers in the "Amount" column (also black and not green)?
    5. I assume you tried to print the checks by choosing File>Print Checks while the account with the checks is visible?
    6. Are you entering these checks by either typing "Command-J" or through Transactions>Write Check? (or maybe they are Scheduled Transactions that you have printed before?)

    If the answer to all of these is NOT yes then it may be something you can fix. If the answer to all of these IS yes maybe some other details would help. I assume not being able to print checks is not something many users are experiencing or we would have heard it from others as well, which does not mean it is not an issue that you have been "lucky" enough to discover.

    I just ran a test on printing checks with QM 2017 4.6.3 and got the same error as Lucy is getting. Looks to me like a bug...

    Just got the 4.6.3 update and nope it still doesn't fix my problem with Quicken Mobile not syncing accurately even after resetting the Cloud file in preferences.  When syncing the mobile app with my desktop each of my mobile accounts is off by various small amounts.  Even one credit card that has a zero balance shows an inaccurate balance in mobile app after syncing.

    I also ran a test (although I don't use Q. for printing checks) and had no problem at all.  So the plot thickens.

    OMG! Quicken is testing releases on live production users?  Had I read this thread earlier I would never have upgraded, but the in product prompt said it was required?!  This is total amateur hour.

    Almost all of my online accounts are now broken, awesome. It was working great. thanks Quicken.

    For example if enable BoA accounts plus Amex, Amex will not update. If enable BoA accounts, Amex, plus Chase, then Amex now updates. If enable everything, BoA accounts no longer update and so on.

    I am unable to open my Quickens account now that I changed my password to a Quicken ID. This is frustrating! Please advise how to fix.

    Hello,  I am having the same problem with most of my Chase accounts.  For some reason my Chase savings account works fine.  It's my checking account that's problematic.

    Yep, seems consistent. Wish I had something to offer. I spent 3 hours with technical support who suggested just about everything reasonable, but nothing worked. I agee with you, but at this point, I don't think this is something that we can fix.

    I GOT IT TO WORK!!!   Of course the nanosecond after I post this I see the post above mine suggesting I switch to a direct connection.    I edited the checking account, clicked change the connection and then selected "Options".   Then, change the connection type to direction.   Bingo.  It starts working again!

    It appears that the updates defaulted the connection types to Quicken connection types.  Chase only accepts Direction Connection.   It's not obvious, especially if you haven't monkeyed with setting in a while that this function even exists, let alone that it was reset.

    Quicken - You might want to get some sort of notification out to your users.

    I have heard that Direct Connect works better for Chase, but I have never used it before and until the update I had no problems with downloading transactions from Chase using the Quicken Connect option.

    So . . . went through the upgrade this week and so far have 4 accounts that disappeared completely, one that does not connect to the bank for the checking but will for the savings with the same bank, and worst of all for my main account has made the data for the first six month of this year disappear.  Could hardly have been a worse upgrade.  How do I find the data that has disappeared?

    I received the QM2017 4.6.0/4.6.1 update this afternoon (2017-09-14).

    There is a minor issue when launching QM2017 4.61 if one has an existing Quicken ID that is different from the Intuit ID used in your QM2017 4.5.8 database.  It complains when you enter your Quicken ID that the ID is already in use.  At least it does provide a second log in window that has a link at the bottom that allows you to use your existing Quicken ID.

    My biggest issue with QM2017 4.6.1 is the asynchronous background updates.  There is no positive indication that Quicken has completed any task that the user has initiated.

    Without any positive indication that Quicken has completed an operation, I find that I now have to log into my credit union's and brokerage's web sites to determine whether Quicken has downloaded all of the transactions that occurred. 

    What once took one or two minutes now takes five to ten minutes.

    Quicken could have spent some time fixing all of the bugs that remain in the investment logic.  When will the Day's Gain/Loss be reported correctly?  The amount reported is always wrong when the investment account(s) hold shares of Unit Investment Trusts, shares of an investment -grade CD, US Treasury and GSE bonds.

    What about Quicken's assumption that all dividends and interest are taxable income?  The TXF files generated by Quicken are simply wrong due to these assumptions.

    I don’ t like the new behavior which depends on the connection type. I updated to 4.6.3 yesterday, and without reading this thread, I would have assumed that my quicken connect accounts were not downloading transactions properly. How many other users, without the benefit of reading this thread, will think that something is wrong? I think Quicken should either go back to the previous behavior or show both dates.

    As I monitored this thread over the weekend, I began to wonder just how many of the people reporting FI connection problems had been mislead by the changes to the Last Update info into thinking that their accounts were not being updated correctly. And then started down the rabbit hole of changing the connection type, etc. which lead to further issues.

    IMHO the changes to the Last Update info for Quicken Connect accounts, coupled with 4 days without Quicken employee contributions in this thread (Sat-Tues), may have been the biggest “problem” with the v4.6.x roll out. Simply because it potentially affected every Quicken user with a Quicken Connect account.

    FWIW I’m not saying that all, or even most, of the users who have reported update problems here were fooled by this Last Update issue. Just that some of them may have been mislead by it.

    I use Web Connect, which takes more effort but works as usual... I have only 2 FI that work with Direct Connect, but I just use Web Connect for them also.

    I don't think that is true. I have 6 Chase CC accounts with 2 different usernames and passwords. ALL 6 of them are configured with Quicken Connect. And all 6 of them have been updating correctly both before and after upgrading to v4.6.x. The only accounts that I have that use Direct Connect are with Fidelity and Vanguard.

    I upgraded to the latest QM 2017 yesterday and got a new Quicken ID. Now, my direct connect bank is not downloading any transactions. Everything I check in settings shows it should but it's not

    I've been printing checks on Quicken for more than a decade. I shouldn't even need to be connected to do this. I answered "yes" to all of RCinNJ's questions. Printing checks is the most important reason I used Quicken. How do I get it fixed?
