One-Step Update crashes Quicken and launches Bugsplat
Herrick Inman
Starting today, every time I run One-Step Update, the update progress halts, Quickens closes and the annoying, useless Bugsplat launches. No error message. Super-Validate found no problems.

I'm having the same issue. Everything works it appears individually updating EXCEPT my Fidelity accounts. Do you by chance have Fidelity?
Herrick Inman
One step update works for each of my accounts individually, except my Discover accounts. To try to fix this, I deactivated my Discover accounts, then tried to reactivate them via Set Up Online. After entering my UserID and Password and pressing Connect, Quicken crashes and Bugsplat launches.
I don't have Fidelity.

I am having the exact same issue with Quicken for Windows that Herrick Inman is experiencing starting this morning. If I run one-step update, it crashes the program and the bugsplat program runs.
carlwebster
Same here. Also unable to update accounts individually.
pcar-nut
My one step is crashing with Fidelity and Charles Schwab accounts. Every other account seems to be working
crwalejr
Yes. Every time I request an update Quicken crashes during the process and I get Bugsplat screen. Same with you?
Tammy Van Buren
Yes. Every time I request an update Quicken crashes during the process and I get Bugsplat screen.
rolandi2
Yes, same problem as yours.
jtcrawf55
Ditto on that. If you update some accounts individually it works. But OSU for all accounts produces BUGSPLAT no matter what. What's up QUICKEN people?
hmday
I have the same problem when updating Charles Schwab account
CountryLogic
Yes. Every time I request an OSU, Quicken crashes during the process and I get Bugsplat screen. If I update my accounts by selecting them individually, they all update except my Discover account. . On that one I get crashed Bugsplatted.

I have the same experience, except certain accounts cause the Bugsplat crash. For me, it's the Discover credit card account and a Schwab 401k account
FaithRisa
Same issues as the rest of you - Glad I came here as I thought it was me :-)
yoyomanii
getting the bugsplat screen when trying to update accounts. then tried to add accounts, getting the same thing.
vz2z9999
I'm not sure but it seems like Fidelity. I can update banks individually ok excepty for them
rlroberts
Yes, OSU just spins on one computer. Bugsplat error on a different computer with different accounts
D-Two
It's something other than "just" Fidelity, as I'm experiencing the crash and do not have a Fidelity account linked.
Dory
Mine is hanging when updating investment quotes. I just got the bug
splat too.
EricC
I am having the same problem with One Step Update. Crashes and then I get the BugSplat screen.
RAli
Yes I just tried updating my IRA account from Fidelity, and it gave me a Bugsplat error and crashed.
yoyomanii
mine is also fidelity. called fidelity and they say everything is good on their side. signed into fidelity with no problem. it is a quicken problem
DGA
I am having same issue. Bugsplat if you try to update fidelity accounts. Also bugsplat if you reset online access for a fidelity account.
crwalejr
Yes that is the crash screen for Quicken. Seems to be a system issue with Quicken today. Many reports of issue.

Starting today, when I use One Step Update it stays stuck in Waiting status, apparently with the Quicken Online Services step (Quotes, News). I've tried One Step Update with Online Services de-selected and that causes Quicken to crash. I'm on Year 2020, Version R29.22, Build 27.1.29.22.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Gary Talda
failing on Schwab. Tried to re-add account and crashed after adding user id / password and entering vault password.

Same issue here with my Fidelity accounts... is there anybody in the Quicken tech group looking into this massive error???
cliftoncsmith
Same issue. My brokerage accounts cause the same issue, Crash and bugsplat.
Ken McAdams
Bugs happen. They should cause error messages, but not crashes. Crashes are unacceptable. Non-responsiveness from Quicken is inexcusable.
sebattig
Same issue! I cannot update my Fidelity accounts this morning - every time I try the BugSplat appears for me - after several attempts - I did send the info but continue to have the issue - run update and quicken closes with bugsplat appearing. Very frustrating! Need a fix!
JudgeDon
One-step update crashes with Bugsplat message.
Some individual accounts update, but Fidelity crashes Quicken.

Starting today, seem to have issues with Bank of America. No issues with Merrill Edge, but not sure
drdeathab
I have the same Fidelity issue. Just started.

Does anyone know if Quicken monitors these forums and reports that they are working on the issue? it would be helpful to get some report that they're working on the issue.... Anyone know? Thx.
Ron
Add me also to the growing list. Tried update with both one step and then individually with no success. Did a little research and this same problem happened in July. Doesn't appear that Quicken tech support has made much success in fixing this problem.

Seems to be Schwab for me when done one at a time. Crashes if you OSU all.
kknj
Same issue, appears to be with Discover Card and Fidelity
Chet-NYC62
Same here... Fidelity update is causing a crash. Better get this fixed fast, we're going into End of Year distribution time very soon...the updates are going to get nuts.
Chuck77
OSU consistently crashes Q when attempting to update Fidelity. This is happening so often now Quicken should be called Bugslap launch feature!
DavidGeschke
I narrowed it down to one account creating the crash for me: Edward Jones Investments.
JudgeDon
Same issue. Fidelity account
JWQ
Having same issue this morning. Seems to be associated with Schwab - when I deselect Schwab accounts the update completes in normal fashion. I am also 2020, Version R29.22, Build 27.1.29.22.
Maikeer
I checked for program updates (Windows), also.
ftcbski
Same here
SAF56
Same issue with One Step Update. It updates Amex and then freezes on everything else.
herbcohen
Same here. I've had the PNC CC-508 failure for a couple of weeks also.
ebcullen
Same here. Just on Schwab at the moment. Vanguard and MSSB were okay. Haven't tried credit cards.
Dave307
Same issue on Schwab account. Sent Bug report
dctokach
I'm having the same issue. I do have Fidelity but haven't tried the individual accounts.
splasher
Agree. Chase credit card downloaded fine, locked up on Discover.
This could be tied to the newer process used by Quicken with some Direct Cite connections that was applied to the Discover accounts.

Hi
@jancarpenter
,
Yes, there are a number of Quicken employees who serve as moderators here, and they monitor these discussions regularly and every day.
